This kit is an inexpensive stepping stone into the world of high power LED grow lights, and assembly
time over traditional 5mm LED kits is reduced 10 fold!

This grow light kit uses the latest and most efficient LEDs yet - the Cree XP-E series! These LEDs are
tiny, just 4mm x 4mm! But each one can replace more than 60 conventional 5mm LEDs! Compact is an
understatement; at just 5x4x3" this light is barely bigger than two soda cans placed side by side.
Because the components are small and surface mount, this kit comes "mostly assembled". There are
no electronic components to solder. However, you will need to solder two power wires from the circuit
board to the power connectors. And as with the other DIY kits, you will need electronics grade rosin core
solder and a proper 25w electronics soldering iron. Mechanical assembly just requires a small flat tip
screwdriver, a phillips screwdriver and a pair of pliers.
While the nominal operation is 12 volts DC, LEDs will function through a wide range of input voltage.
Because this light operates at 12 volts DC, it will require a separate DC power supply (not included!).
The least expensive option for hobbyists is to convert an ATX computer power supply, as these are
typically available for less than $50 and can often provide up to 20 amps at 12 volts. However, we do
offer a power supply (sold separately) if desired.
Please note: this kit uses HIGH POWER LEDs. These are similar to the LEDs that are on our Procyon
100. We recommend not staring directly at the LEDs while the light is on because of the potential of eye
damage.
Recommended coverage area is no larger than 24" x 24" (4 square feet) at a mounting height of 8-12"
above the plant canopy. LEDs may also be oriented for side lighting provided proper airflow is
maintained for cooling.
